Ex-SC judge to re-evaluate answersheets

The discrepancies in the conduct of Delhi Judicial Services Examination 2014 that were questioned in a PIl before Supreme Court will be probed by former Supreme Court Justice PV Reddi and a report will be tabled in Court by February end.

A Bench of Justices Dipak Misra and PC Pant on Monday said it had asked former SC judge Justice PV Reddi to re-evaluate answersheets of close to 650 candidates who took the examination.

The judge will begin work from January 10 and will submit a report six weeks thereafter. The Delhi HC Registrar General was directed to provide all facilities to Justice Reddi

The court made it clear that the 15 candidates who were selected out of 659 will not be "touched" as the PIl had alleged discrepancies in the cases rejected by the panel comprising Delhi High Court judges.

The PIl filed by Centre for PIl was argued by advocate Prashant Bhushan who alleged that toppers in State judicial examinations had failed while kin of judges got cleared.
