Sir Ganga Ram Hospital’s department of Ear, Nose Throat and Sleep, on Sunday, organised a free camp for those suffering from snoring and sleep disorders.

The camp was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. In this camp, Fat Index assessment , ENT Examination, Nasal Endoscopy, etc. were provided free of cost  to patients. Dikhsit was surprised to know that simply snoring was an indicator of many serious health problems, including cardiac diseases. She asked people to come forward for regular health check ups. According to Dr Devinder Rai, senior consultant (ENT) of the hospital, around 45 per cent men and 30 per cent women snore on a regular basis. Snoring worsens with increase in weight and age. However, the diagnosis of sleep disordered breathing or Sleep Apnea remains undetected in 92 per cent of the women and 80 per cent of the men."
