Delhi University’s (DU) ambitious Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) got sanction from the Delhi High Court on Wednesday after the University submitted its final report laying provisions for the visually impaired. Disposing of the petition filed by NGO Sambhavna against the four-year course, the High Court accepted the report of the university and ordered that DU must ensure special care to the visually-impaired students.
Declining to interfere in the introduction of the four-year degree courses in DU, the High Court directed the university to safeguard the interests of the visually-impaired students. It also directed the university to offer alternative courses for Mathematics and Science immediately so that the visually-impaired students can make an informed choice.
