East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) is planning to adopt a GIS-based digital platform called URBGOV for the purpose of mapping, visualisation and analysing existing services.
This system will help in identifying areas of improvements under medical facilities, schools and parks and toilets etc. The platform is developed by Center for Urban and Regional Excellence (CURE) without any financial implications to the corporation.
Chief Engineer Pradeep Kumar Khandelwal stated that there is a GIS based digital system through which all data can be collected in one place by mapping all infrastructure facilities related to health, schools, parks, toilets etc.
Khandelwal informed that in view of Swachh Servekshan this system will better take care of the "special gap" between public toilets.
