In an anti-encroachment drive, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) impounded 45 cars and two-wheelers. The drive was initiated as per the direction issued by the High Court, said a senior corporation official.
The civic body also seized 6 rehari, 3 counters and 22 hoardings. The action was taken with the help of police, traffic police and other local bodies. Action was taken in large numbers against the violators, he said.
He added that a senior official of the corporation along with staff of the concerned zones visited areas under its jurisdiction and found vehicles were parked on the roads. Action was also initiated in areas of Lakshmi Nagar, Nirman Vihar, Vikas Marg, Karkari Mod and Gandhi Nagar.
