In order to ease pressure at the Amrapali intersection on Greater Noida-Noida expressway and to avoid piling up of vehicles during the peak hours, Noida Traffic Police has decided to connect service lane in front of HCl and Amity University to express highway. With the joining of the road, nearly 10,000 vehicles will reach express highway 1 kilometre before the Amrapali cut and will use the stretch for going towards Noida and Kalindi Bridge easily

Apart from this, traffic police has also decided to provide a cut at Mahamaya flyover so the vehicles coming from Sector 37 could reach Kalindi Bridge and other parts of Noida without any hassle. According to a senior official of traffic department, as the traffic volume is growing by leaps and bounds thesedays, vehicular movement comes to a halt at various points on the entire route from Amrapali intersection to Kalindi Bridge. Most of the time vehicles rammed into each other causing traffic jam.

"With the increasing number of vehicles on express highway, cases of accident and vehicles' piling up are measuring in large number. Once the service lane in front of HCl will be connected with the express highway, a major chunk of vehicular volume will merge before the intersection and will not face hardship while approaching towards Noida and national Capital as there would be a 1-km stretch before the intersection,” said MP Singh, Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Gautam Budh Nagar.

A senior official of Noida Authority said that they are taking the proposal of traffic police properly and have decided to conduct a survey of the entire region. "As we have got the proposal last week, we are discussing it properly and have sought a survey report from concerned official of the area. Once after going through the report, we will decide our move accordingly," said the official.

It would be important to mention that over a lakh of motorists use the express highway to reach Noida and New Delhi daily out of around 10,000 come from service lane and join the express highway at Amrapali intersection. Motorists coming from Kalindi Bridge also arrive at the intersection to join highway causing a massive jam on the entire route.
