Delhi University Student's Union (DUSU) president Rocky Tuseed is observing indefinite fast since Wednesday alleging that the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University (DU) Yogesh Tyagi has consistently ignored his plea to meet him for discussing student related issues and concerns.

This came after he was allegedly manhandled by the University security when he went to attend Delhi University 96th Foundation Day on Tuesday. Rocky who was not allowed in, alleged  that VC has never replied back to his umpteen request for a personal audience. Rocky along with his supporters is now on hunger strike in front of VC office.

Among the demands that DUSU has been pushing are; 24x7  library , hostels for all, student representation in Executive Council and Academic Council, PG entrance exam in both online and offline mode, implementation of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) guidelines for women safety in all colleges of DU and several other demands.

“If a VC doesn't find time to meet the president of students union then it's not hard to imagine the problem that students must be facing,” he said. The DUSU has four central panel posts, Rocky was elected as president in the polls held in September last year.
