Water supply in several parts of South, South West, North and North West Delhi may be affected due to poor quality of raw water being supplied to the Wazirabad, Chadrawal, Nangloi and Haiderpur Water Treatment Plants (WTPs).
This has occurred due to releasing of over 11 lakh cusec of water from the Hathini Kund Barriage in Haryana over the past two days. Sources said that the raw water reaching the plants is high on silt which has reduced the production in the WTPs by nearly 20 percent. In many parts of the city, residents will have to run without water or be at the receiving end of low pressure of water. Some of these areas include Shalimar Bagh, Pitampura, lawrence Road, Ashok Vihar, Wazirpur, Rani Bagh, Vishnu Garden, Mehrauli, IIT Gate, Green Park, Safdarjung Enclave, Munirka, Greater Kailash, Malviya Nagar, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, Kanhaiya Nagar, Mukherjee nagar and Keshavpuram.
