DU V-C, BJP keep out city Govt's representatives from GB meetings: AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused that the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University and the Bharatiya Janata Party are acting in “nexus” to keep out Delhi Government's representatives of Governing Bodies' meetings of DU colleges.

“We were getting regular complaints from the principals of DU colleges that they are being threatened by the university administration against the election of Delhi Government representatives in governing bodies,” said AAP MlA Sanjeev Jha while addressing a Press conference at party headquarters.

He said colleges did not have Governing Bodies till last year and it's under pressure from the party that elections to GB are being conducted.

“GB of a college consists of 15 members -- 5 members from Delhi government and 5 from the university. Rests are principals and members from the college. For meeting of GB, one-third members must be present, but recently in the elections to the GB at Satyawati College of DU deliberately 3 members were kept out of the meeting and in lieu of it meeting did not convene, though only one-third members are required for it,” he said.

Adding, that this is deliberately been done so that representatives of Delhi Government may not get elected to the GBs.

He said representatives of Delhi Government are deliberately being kept away from the GB meetings. Jha further alleged that BJP members were involved as they want to interfere in the appointment process of the colleges.

He also said with the presence of the representatives of Delhi Government in the GB, the BJP members would not be able to succeed in unfair appointments process.
