The registration for the undergraduate (UG) courses of Delhi University (DU) for academic session 2018-19 is likely to kick-start on 11 May with the opening of registration process on the UG admission portal.
The admission portal for the purpose of UG registration will remain open for about a month and at-least for 2 weeks after the declaration of class XII Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results. According to sources, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to declare class XII board result on May 26 i.e. third week of May.
As majority of students applying to DU are from CBSE, the details of an applicant's marks in XII will be automatically captured by the software from the database provided by CBSE, once a student enters his/her roll number and other details.
For this academic year the portals for the merit based UG courses and entrance based UG courses have been integrated. The applicants can now register for merit based as well as entrance based courses on the same portal through one application. The five year integrated course in Journalism has been added as a new course to the portal.
While admission to merit based courses are based on cut-off, admission to the entrance based courses are based on an online entrance test. The entrance based UG courses are Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), BA Business Economics , Bachelor of Business Administration (financial investment analysis), Bachelor of Science in Physical Education Health Education & Sports, BA (H) Multimedia and Mass Communication, B.Tech (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations), BA (H) Music , Bachelor of Elementary Education.
Also this year for admissions to sports category, aspirants are required to upload three best certificates instead of only one. DU recently conducted two day pre-admission orientation programme for aspirants seeking admission in various UG courses on 27 and 28 of last month.
