One of the six accused, involved in the much-hyped December 16 gang-rape case, confessed before a city court on Wednesday that he was present in the bus on the fateful night and drove the bus. Accused Mukesh Singh, confessed that it was he who drove the bus and also admitted the involvement of other five accused in the case.
However, Mukesh tried to save himself by saying that he only drove the bus and did not rape the victim. “I was driving the bus and did not rape the girl. I do not know who raped the girl and brutalised her,” he said.
Mukesh further told that his brother and main accused Ram Singh, who committed suicide in Tihar Jail on March 11, and the juvenile were standing at the door of the bus.
