District administration of Gautam Budh Nagar is yet to act against school authority whose bus met with an accident in Greater Noida on Monday. The administration ordered to register FIR against the accused driver, and not against the school authority. Officials said the action will be taken once election process is over in Uttar Pradesh. However, the lackadaisical approach of the administration irked the parents who are now demanding proper investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, police arrested bus driver Brijpal on Tuesday.
One dozen students and four teachers were injured on Monday noon when bus of Vishwa Bharti Public School in Greater Noida had met with an accident near Crown Plaza in Surajpur. Himanshu, Class VIII student, had suffered severe injuries and his right hand was amputated in Kailash Hospital. He was later shifted AIIMS Trauma Centre in New Delhi. As many as 40 students and six teachers had boarded in the bus which was going towards Noida from Beta-I of Greater Noida. The errant driver of the bus had fled the spot leaving the victims inside the bus.
City Magistrate of Greater Noida Jaipal Singh had said on Monday that the administration would order investigation into the matter and issue notice against the school for negligence. However, no action was initiated on Tuesday.
When enquired, the City Magistrate said that they could not initiate action against school administration as the school was closed for two days. Apart from this, they are also busy in election-related activities. “We have registered a case under appropriate Sections of IPC. However, no notice has been issued to school administration yet. We will see the matter only after election results are announced,” said Jaipal Singh.
