After parents of students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Ghaziabad protested on Tuesday against steep hike in tuition fee, the district administration has stayed the decision of the school body.
Enraged parents had claimed that the fee has been hiked over 40 per cent from last year’s fee structure which works out to around Rs 1 lakh per annum for a junior class student thus, putting a squeeze on middle class wallets. ADM City Rachhpal Singh told The Pioneer that a committee has been constituted which comprises representatives of parents, school management and Government officials to look into the matter. “The committee would submit its report within 10 days. The committee would decide the fee structure according to the Supreme Court guidelines, State Government orders and market forces. Till then the hike has been put on hold,” added ADM City. Earlier over a 100 parents gathered outside the Indirapuram branch of DPS, staged a dharna and raised slogans against the school management.
