Delhi Public School, Dwarka on Friday launched ‘I Am’, a social awareness programme for the girl child marking 10 October as International Day of the Girl Child in the national Capital.
“In a country that idolises Shakti or strength of a woman, there are so many women rendered weak by gender inequal system. Together we can ensure gender equality and sensitise the people,” said Smriti Irani, Human Resource Development Minister. She also complimented the school and wished them good luck for taking up this social awareness programme to empower the girl child.
