A 15-year-old Class XI student of DPS, who was ragged and beaten up by seniors at school’s hostel, on Wednesday quit the school. Victim’s father said that he will not send his child back to the school and requested the school authority to transfer him to another branch in the district. His friend has, however, returned to the hostel.
“My son will not go back to that school. We are waiting for him to recover from his injuries and I will look into the matter. I will talk to school authorities to shift him in another branch,” the victims’ father said.
A school official said that the management has suspended six class-XII students, who were named in the FIR, from the hostel. Police said the accused juvenile students have left the school campus for their respective native places.
Superintendent of police, Noida Dinesh Yadav said “A disciplinary committee of the school is probing the matter. We will serve notices to the school management seeking response from the hostel warden and security guards. The named students have, however, left the school hostel. We are investigating the matter with the help of child welfare committee.”
“All accused are minors and the police will take a careful approach looking at the students’ career,” SP Yadav said.
On May 9, two Class XI students were allegedly ragged and then beaten up by six seniors by iron rods, belts and punches around 9 pm at hostel. Police said the boys were discharged from the hospital on Tuesday after receiving primary treatment.
