Ghaziabad Parents’ Association (GPA) have alleged that the Delhi Public School (DPS) Ghaziabad society, fraudulently availed the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) land in its name.
GPA president Seema Tyagi claimed that in the Public Interest litigation (PIl) filed by two of its members Neeraj Bhatnagar and Amit Jindal, in Allahabad High Court, the society in its counter affidavit admitted that the UPSIDC allotted land to the DPS society at Delhi ( a separate entity) on 22/01/1981 but the lease deed was executed in the name of DPSG society at Ghaziabad before its inception whose registration was executed on 10/4/1981 almost after three months.
According to her the lease deed was executed to the ghost society which was not in existence. This all was done due to the connivance of the then District Magistrate Om Pathak who was the chairman of the DPSG society Ghaziabad. The lease deed condition to have two members from UPSIDC was also violated since no member from UPSIDC was made in it.
There were other shocking revelations in the counter affidavit filed before the high court said the president of the GPA. There are four members of Pathak family out of seven members society in violation of rules. Remaking three other members are their paid employees. The DPSG Society itself submitted that they were inclined to get the economically weaker, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students to fill its 20 percent quota but could not get such students in Ghaziabad. The quota of local entrepreneurs and children of UPSIDC employees was also not fulfilled. So that they couldn't fill such mandatory quota. “ It was false representation before the court” said the GPA president on Thursday while addressing the media.
“The local authority had ignored violation due to Pathak's influence. Green cover conditions were also ignored', the president alleged..
“Most importantly the DPSG society mortgaged the leased land taken on nominal price to the ICICI bank for Rs. 72 crore and funds were transferred to its sister society. The embezzlement of huge fund had surfaced in the counter affidavit when the DPSG society showed a donation of Rs. 45 crore to different bodies. It was in contradiction of ground to increase tuition fee on which ground the society continued to increase fee without breaks for several years in the past”, added president of GPA.
“We took the ground of the two reports of the Ghaziabad district magistrates SVS Ranga Rao and Ministy S who submitted to the state that 27 such other schools are extorting unwanted fee. The court also took these reports seriously and clubbed in this PIl and observed that the judgment delivered in DPSG case will be binding on all such schools” this was our main victory added the president.
The Allahabad High court issued notice to Om Pathak in individual capacity and then UPSIDC Regional Manager Jugal Kishore in the case. This is the major development in our fight till now added the GPA president.
Om Pathak didn't respond to the repeated calls made on his mobile umber by The Pioneer. He further didn't respond to the Whatsapp message sent on his number.
