Delhi Metro commuters faced a harrowing time on Thursday when train services on one of its lines were affected for over an hour, an official said. Metro services between two stations on the Yellow line — which runs between Jahangirpuri in north Delhi and HUDA City Centre in Gurgaon — were affected from 3.40 pm to 4.53 pm.
“Metro services were affected between Sultanpur and HUDA City Centre stations when a foreign wire got entangled with a portion of the overhead electricity wire near Guru Dronacharya station (going towards Jahangirpuri),” said Anuj Dayal, DMRC Executive Director (Corporate Communication). However, train services were normal from Sultanpur to Jahangirpuri. Normalcy was restored at 4.53 pm after the entangled wire was removed.
To carry passengers from one end to another of the affected section, single-line operation was undertaken between Sultanpur and HUDA City Centre.
