Congress leader Ajay Maken, who filed his nomination from Sadar Bazar seat on Wednesday, declared his and his wife Radhika Maken’s assets worth Rs12.34 crore, which is more than double of his claim during the lok Sabha polls in May 2014. Maken and his wife had declared total assets worth around Rs5.76 crore in his lok Sabha elections affidavit last year. Maken has Rs2.51 lakh in cash in hand and his total fixed deposit in banks comes around Rs1.54 crore. His daughters also own movable assets of Rs30 lakh and Rs17.32 lakh respectively. Maken also owe Rs90.96 lakh as loan. Maken’s wife owns jewellery, bullion and valuable things worth Rs10.94 lakh.
Maken has movable assets worth Rs2.99 crore while his wife has a total of Rs1.20 crore. During the lok Sabha elections, he had declared movable assets worth Rs2.68 crore and Rs88.22 lakh of his wife. The value of their immovable assets, which include a residential property and land in Haryana and Delhi, have increased to Rs8.14 crore as compared to Rs2.21 crore last year.
Maken’s owns four immovable assets worth Rs7.77 crore that include 21,745 sq m and 2,340 square feet non-agricultural land in Nangli Sakrawati that was purchased at Rs 52,920 only. The market value of this land is Rs65.22 lakh. He also owns property in Modern Industrial Estate, Bahadurgarh. The market value is expected around Rs1.07 crore. Maken also owns 250 square yard plot in Bawana.
The plot was purchased at Rs10.25 lakh in 2008 and its current market value is Rs74.74 lakh. He also owns a residential building (J-12/2 Rajouri Garden) and current value is over Rs5.30 crore in the property market. His wife has an acre land in Ghaziabad worth Rs3.6 crore. His wife also owns immovable property worth Rs3.63 lakh. Maken has invested Rs5.35 lakh in Bonds, debentures and mutual fund. He also owns shares worth Rs25.21 lakh in Indian companies, including GK Wire Products, ARC Cyber Systems and Fortune IT Park. Maken has also invested Rs6.09 lakh in postal saving, NSS and insurance policies. His wife owns Maruti Dezire model 2008.
