A 42-year-old domestic help was found dead in a park in North West Delhi’s Model Town area on Monday morning. The deceased, identified as Kamlesh Devi, was a resident of Gurmandi area of Model Town. locals staged a protest and pelted stones, injuring police personnel and damaging vehicles.
According to police, the incident was reported around 10 am when the victim was found lying inside Ramlila Park in the area. The body was noticed by passersby who informed police. “The woman had injuries to her head and abdomen. It appeared she was hit by a brick,” said a police official. The woman had gone to her mother’s residence on Sunday night for dinner, police said. Agitated people blocked GT Road at Model Town and refused to cremate the body until the accused were arrested. A case of murder was registered at Model Town Police Station.
