A 28-year-old doctor, who stays at AIIMS hostel was allegedly stalked for five months and was harassed by a man, who would message abuses and vulgar content to the victim everyday, a senior police official said.
The accused has been identified as Arunabh, who was preparing for his post-graduation in a medical course, said police. However, police have sent a team in search of the accused. The victim, whose husband is a doctor at AIIMS, is an MBBS and stays at AIIMS hostel with him. She is also preparing for MD entrance for which she goes regularly to the AIIMS library to study.
“The accused would follow the doctor to the library, sit next to her and try to talk to her. He would also sometimes ask for the doctor’s books, saying that he was preparing for his post-graduation in a medical course. He tried every way to converse with her,” said the police official, adding, “After a few days, when the victim did not respond to Arunabh he allegedly started texting the doctor vulgar content and abuses. She could not then muster the courage to complain to police.”
The victim later told Arunabh not to trouble her or else she would complain to the police. The accused got angry and started sending her messages threatening her.
