The Delhi Metro, which takes over operations of the Airport Express link from midnight of June 30, has sought public feedback for better management. Two 'feedback-cum-suggestion counters' will be made available at Shivaji Stadium and Dwarka Sector 21 stations from 7.30 am.
"The management has decided to invite feedback from commuters, based on which efforts will be made to further improve services on the line and make it more commuter-friendly," said Anuj Dayal, executive director of corporate communications at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Commuters will also be able to post suggestions on www.delhimetrorail.com.
Services of the 22.7-km corridor will commence at the usual time — 5.15 am on Monday under DMRC's supervision. "An operations & maintenance team of 100 officials has already been formed. A seven-member core committee of senior officials has also been formed to handle extreme emergency situations," said a DMRC official. According to the authority, staff has been deputed for all strategic departments, such as operations, traction, electrical and maintenance, civil, signalling and communications, security, rolling stock and finance.
So far, DMRC has been struggling to keep running the Airport Express line, which was in the news for alleged fallout between Government officials and Reliance Infra. The Reliance Infra-owned DAMEPl had written a letter on June 27, expressing its inability to continue operations after June 30. The DMRC board of directors decided to take over operations. The high-speed corridor is the first PPP model project undertaken by DMRC.
