In a bid to ensure last mile connectivity, Delhi Metro on Sunday said it has integrated the Common Mobility Card (CMC) in its feeder buses and a few of the parking lots in the Delhi Metro network.

According to a senior Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official, "The Metro smart card users who are using feeder buses can now use their smart cards for making payment for travel in these buses. The Metro is currently running a fleet of more than 200 feeder buses in Delhi covering over 40 routes spanning across different lines of the Delhi Metro network. Around two lakh people are currently availing the Metro feeder bus services on a daily basis."

The official further said that CMC can now also be used at parking lots of 13 metro stations for paying parking charges.

These are Vishwavidyalaya, Saket, Karkarduma, Dilshad Garden, Akshardham, Patel Chowk, Kashmere Gate,  Rohini Sector (18,19), Shastri Park, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Old Faridabad, and Sector 28. This service will be extended to cover all the parking lots in the coming months.

"DMRC has also updated the software in the Hand Held Terminal (HHT), the device that is used to read the card and deduct the amount, in feeder buses, adding, "New software will simplify the ticketing process in these buses and will also save time in the ticketing transaction, " said the official.
