With an aim to make transport hub at Mohan Nagar connecting Noida and Vaishali Metro lines, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has cleared payment to DMRC to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) on Tuesday.

After the board meeting, the GDA chairman and the principal Secretary Housing (UP), stated that to develop a Metro network in two NCR towns of western UP — Noida, Ghaziabad and its surroundings, DMRC has been asked to prepare a DPR.

The board cleared a payment of Rs109.25 lakh to DMRC connecting Noida Sector-62 Metro line and Vaishali Metro line to upcoming Dilshad Garden Metro line at Mohan Nagar in Ghaziabad.

Highlighting the importance of this proposal, the chairman said the Noida Metro line from Sector-62 via Indirapuram and Vasundhara residential colony would connect Dilshad Garden Metro line at Mohan Nagar and Vaishali Metro line would also connect the Dilshad Garden extension line at Mohan Nagar. Rapid train to Meerut would also have a major junction at Mohan Nagar which would facilitate professionals to commute in all directions without any hassle.

Meanwhile, the GDA board also cleared the proposal of transfer of land use at Kadrabad in Modi Nagar for institutional use. Board further cleared permission to change land use from park to a club in Raj Nagar.

The other proposal, which the board cleared, was to revise the master plan 2021 and to initiate action for the master plan 2041. It also cleared the proposal to adopt new building bylaws 2016 introduced by the State.

The other proposals include amalgamation of Murad Nagar and loni master plan with Ghaziabad master plan 2021. The proposal further states that being separate layout plans of all three towns the GDA faces practical problems in executing Government plans for an integrated development.
