In an effort to make the process of paying water bills by the consumers in a hassle free manner, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is set to introduce a range of new facilities for its consumers in the near future.
Besides this planned move, customers will have access to a chatbot provided by the DJB, enabling them to easily register complaints and apply for new water connections. Moreover, to enhance accuracy and prevent issues with billing, the DJB plans to connect water meters with GIS and assign a unique ID to each meter using a QR code. This initiative will effectively address problems related to incorrect or inflated billings. Furthermore, the DJB is committed to improving its mobile application by incorporating numerous new features. These updates will not only enhance the speed and quality of services but also ensure greater convenience and transparency for DJB consumers. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be leveraged to eliminate loopholes in the billing system and combat corruption, further advancing the board's commitment to providing advanced and consumer-friendly services.
Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board Somnath Bharti emphasised the implementation of cutting-edge technologies to offer superior facilities and enhance transparency for the people of Delhi.
I In order to upgrade and modernize the Revenue Management System, the DJB has invited applications from agencies working in this field. The consultancy firm Ernst & Young has been engaged to conduct the necessary study, develop an action plan, and provide technical support for the project. Somnath Bharti recently chaired a review meeting with top officials of the Revenue Department, urging them to expedite the work and prioritize the needs of the people.\
The Delhi Jal Board is implementing several measures to enhance its facilities, improve accessibility for consumers, and promote transparency.
As part of these efforts, the board will introduce significant changes to its Revenue Management System (RMS). In this regard, the DJB will transform its existing water meters into "smart meters," eliminating the need for consumers to replace their meters. The conversion process will be handled by the DJB itself. To achieve this, the water meters will be integrated with the Geographic Information System (GIS), and a QR code will be affixed to each meter.
