In an effort to provide relief to residents, Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has proposed making payment for its various services possible online. Now people can deposit water and sewer, treated effluent, sludge charges at all its 38 zones electronically.

A senior official at DJB said “DJB has also procured Paytm QR code to enable consumers to pay through e-wallets. However, it is required for consumers to know that Paytm wallet payment should only be done against QR Code and not against any mobile numbers. We will take steps to create awareness among the masses.  Volunteers will be available at all DJB Zonal Revenue offices to educate and assist the consumers in doing transaction online.  In addition to payment by Debit Card and Credit Card, consumer can still pay for various DJB services online by downloading mSeva, through cheque and DDs’ as earlier.”

“DJB becomes the first utility in Delhi to go cashless. Going cashless is the new dynamic initiative of Indian Economy to move forward. By going cashless DJB has joined the progressive way, giving a seamless experience of payment, while ensuring that money is not lost during the transit. This will certainly benefit customers as they would not have to visit head quarters of DJB for everytime they have to make payments,” he added.

Earlier, though consumers were able to deposit their water and sewage bills at the all the zones but facility for payment of treated effluents, sludge charges etc was only available at DJB’s head office in Jhandewalan. “This move is expected to facilitate its consumers by enabling them to save their time. DJB has come up with all new convenience inducing feature and added facility for its consumers,”  he said.
