The Delhi BJP on Friday claimed Delhi was reeling under a water crisis and the ruling AAP regime was callous towards the needs of the citizens who were also facing the danger of waterborne diseases like typhoid and cholera.
Levelling these charges here, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva also claimed Delhi Jal Board junior engineers were selling water tankers. He said Delhiites are facing a major water crisis despite restoration of flood hit water treatment plants and Yamuna overflowing.
Areas like Majnu Ka Tila, Burari, Walled City, Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar assembly to Vikaspuri assembly, Kalka ji, Greater Kailash assemblies to Mehrauli Chatarpur assemblies and Bijwasan assembly to Najafgarh assembly are getting sparse or no water.
The water supply situation is very bad in major cluster areas around Naraina, Kirti Nagar, Dwarka, R.K. Puram, Vasant Vihar, Matia Khan, Idgah, Azadpur, Jahangirpuri, Narela where even water tankers supply has been stopped, Sachdeva said. Villages around Mahipalpur to Najafgarh which are at tail end of supply line are getting almost no water supply even after restoration of water treatment plants, he added.
Sachdeva also said situation is so bad that in Water Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj's Greater Kailash constituency there is colony called Sant Nagar where over 250 houses with over 900 families living therein have been getting erratic and dirty water supply for over a month and now the situation has taken a further tide.
