Dispose of all PSV badges applications, RTO officers told

With several applications for Public Service Vehicles (PSV) badges pending with the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), the Delhi Government’s Transport Department has directed all motor licensing officers (MlOs) to immediately dispose of all such applications filed by auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw drivers.

In its order, the Transport Department has also asked the MlOs to forward all pending applications, especially those from e-rickshaw drivers, to the Delhi Police for their verification at the earliest. A senior Government official said once the verification of applications is done, PSV badges will be issued by the department.

“The Motor licensing Officers are directed to forward all the applications of PSV badges specially...(those from) e-rickshaw drivers pending at their zonal offices to the Special Branch of Delhi Office, immediately through CVR web application. No PSV Badge application should be pending at any zonal office,” stated transport department order.

The move comes days after a group of auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw drivers complained of their applications for PSV badges pending at RTOs for months.

According to rules, PSV badge is required for drivers of those vehicles which ferry passengers in the national Capital.
