Bamboo products are all set to see a high demand among Delhites with various bamboo exhibitions giving a platform to bamboo artisans in the country. One such event, the National Bamboo Expo Mart (Baans Bazar) organised at Dilli Haat, Janakpuri ended here on Sunday.
The three-day bamboo exhibition organised by the National Bamboo Mission, coordinated by Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission in collaboration with Delhi Tourism, witnessed impressive footfall of people from across the city.
The exhibition-cum-sale began on November 28 and was inaugurated by Prabhu Dayal Meena, Secretary, Ministry of Defence. With the theme of ‘Green Consumerism’, various innovative products made from the woody grass (bamboo) were presented and creators were given an opportunity to interact with the stakeholders. The festival included marketing of bamboo products, special entrepreneur stalls, display of bamboo machinery and training workshops for artisans (through design inputs by experts from NID, IITs and SPA).
