Holding the Opposition BJP responsible for inflation, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday said the party has been facilitating the inflationary trend by inciting the traders to go for hoarding. She stated that the BJP has been encouraging traders in effecting inflationary trend with an aim to grab power at any cost. Dikshit was speaking at a public meeting in North-East Delhi.
“The publicising of prices prominently is resulting in further hike in the prices of the vegetables and other items, putting unnecessary burden on the poor families. This very fact reflects the intention of the BJP to secure political gains,” said the Congress leader.
Dikshit also said that the Congress Government in Delhi had been sensitive as it took steps of market intervention to bring the prices at a reasonable level, whereas the BJP deployed its mobile vans at few places against 400 places selected by the Government. “The BJP did just theatrics without feeling any sympathy for the common man. The prices of the vegetables fluctuate with the change of seasons. No party has any right to exploit hike in the prices for its political purposes as the rates are destined to come down in a few weeks’ time,” she said.
Dikshit attended five rallies at Seemapuri, Gokulpuri, Mustafabad and Seelampur Assembly segments on Thursday in support of the party candidates — Vir Singh Dhingan, Baljor Singh, Hasan Ahmad and Matin Ahmad.
