Delhi International Airport ltd (DIAl), a GMR led consortium, has secured first place under the category of Infrastructure and Construction Services in 14th National Award for Excellence in Cost Management 2016 awarded by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
The award ceremony was held earlier this week in New Delhi. The award was conferred by Piyush Goyal,
Union Minister of State for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy, Manoj Sinha, Union Minister of State for Railways and Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs.
DIAl has adopted a comprehensive Cost Management Framework consisting of various policies, processes and initiatives. In order to ensure Operational Efficiency across all elements of business, DIAl is continuously focused on a cost effective and process centric approach.
There were a total nine categories under service sector. The award jury was headed by Hon’ble Justice Dr AS Anand former Chief Justice of India. The Institute evaluated DIAl on criteria like Cost Drivers, Cost Methods, Systems and Techniques, Initiative towards Cost Reduction, Manpower Productivity, Cost Efficiency, Energy Efficiency and Conservation and Sustainability.
