A mentally challenged husband-wife duo reached Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday afternoon and started undressing claiming they were God’s emissaries. They were hauled by police to Dr Ram Manohar lohia Hospital after a chase down Raisina Hill.
Stripping off in front of the main gate of the Bhavan, the couple in their 30s, demanded to meet the President. On being denied entry, they started disrobing and spoke in gobbledygook.
The stunned security personnel hurriedly made the couple wear some clothes. The man took off the dhoti he was made to wear and
starting running down Raisina Hill buck naked, with police in hot pursuit. He was overtaken by a police Jeep and forcibly put inside.
The couple has been taken to the Parliament Street police station. Police are trying to find the reason for their move.
“The couple is suffering from bipolar disorder for which they have been taken to the Institute of Psychiatry near GTB Hospital,” said Dr HK Kar, Medical Superintendent, RMl Hospital.
