Demonetisation: Upadhyay hears traders' woes

Published on:

Delhi BJP leaders and workers led by Satish Upadhyay on Sunday met Delhi traders associations to understand the problems being faced by traders post demonetisation and to assure them that there will be no harassment of traders.

They also requested trader bodies to stay away from any Bandh call by a section of political parties. In fact at few markets especially in North Delhi, the traders are considering opening their shops on November 28 despite Monday being their weekly off.

Addressing a large gathering of traders at a meeting called by Mayur Vihar District BJP at lajpat Nagar, Upadhyay said that with their hard work traders have contributed a lot to prosperity of the country. “No doubt today traders are facing loss of sales but this is a transitory phase and soon doing business will be better & healthier. Today economy is slowly switching from cash flow to cash less system and once this happens exploitation of traders by tax officials will end. Trade will be cleaner and traders will be biggest contributor to country’s revenue,” he added.

Ramesh Bidhuri, MP also addressed to traders of South Delhi’s Tughlakabad, Sangam Vihar and Kalkaji Markets and discussed their problems.

BJP’s National Secretary Sardar RP Singh met office bearers of Confederation of Sadar Bazar Traders Association to understand their problems and assured them to pass on their feedback to Government of India.  Supporting the demonitisation, traders assured normal business at Sadar Bazar on November 28.
