Following the escape of notorious gangster Paras alias Vikram from police custody, the Delhi Police has decided to move court allowing them to handcuff dreaded criminals while in transit. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police recorded the statements of the four police personnel who were drugged by Paras, an associate of Neeraj Dabodia, while escaping.

Head Constable Dinesh and Constables Mir Singh, Ajay and Ramesh — belonging to the third battalion of the Delhi Police — had taken the 27-year-old gangster to Bathinda on December 22 and have also been placed under suspension.

In their statement, they revealed that Paras had bought lychee juice from Bathinda Railway Station. Around 8 pm, when the train was about to reach Rohtak they asked for the juice. Following this, Paras gave them juice spiked with a tranquiliser. After consuming it, they started feeling drowsy and reached the Capital in an unconscious state on Wednesday morning.

Investigators said that Paras could steal only one MP5 submachine gun as the other two police officials were not carrying their weapons and the fourth was carrying only a pistol, which was intact. The MP5 gun, which Paras has taken along with him, costs around `10 lakh.

“He has fled somewhere after Rohtak as the policemen were awake till they reached Rohtak. He cannot move out of Old Delhi Railway Station armed with a gun,” said a senior police official.

Paras has a set of targets, which also include dreaded gangster Neeraj Bawana who is currently out on interim bail. Bawana’s uncle Rambir Shokeen, who won from Mundka Assembly constituency as an Independent candidate is also on his hitlist.
