Delhi Police to grill U'khand Minister

The Delhi Police is likely to question Uttarakhand Minister Harak Singh Rawat in connection with the molestation case filed against him at Safdarjung Enclave police station. The investigating officer of the case will be soon issuing a notice under Section 160 of CrPC to summon the Minister for joining the investigations. Meanwhile Delhi Police sources said that the Minister’s men were trying to contact the Delhi Police top officials for slowing down the pace of investigation.

A day after a case was lodged against Rawat, the police officials are now trying to establish the claims of the 32-year-old woman who alleged that the Minister had molested and threatened her with dire consequences. The woman has also told the police officials that she has audio recordings of conversations exchanged between the Minister and her after the incident.

“She has also mentioned about the recordings in her complaint stating that the Minister later had expressed his regret at the incident. She claimed that on one hand he was trying to convince her and on the other hand trying to threaten her as well,” said a police official. The investigating officers will soon seize the recordings from the woman after converting them in a proper format. The victim’s statement under Section 164 of the CrPC will be recorded in a couple of days.
