Delhi Police is leaving no stone unturned to make the gang-rape of Danish woman a watertight case. As the 51-year-old victim has already left the Capital without undergoing medical test and recording her statements before the magistrate under section 164 of CrPC.
This has made the job difficult for the police officials to carry out the legal proceedings. Police officials involved in the investigation of the case said new amendments — Criminal law Amendments-2013 gives leeway to the prosecution even if the victim did not undergo the medical examination.
The amendment in the law is a saving grace for Delhi Police as they can establish a strong case even though the victim had refused to undergo a medical examination.
