With the Special Cell of the Delhi Police neutralising dreaded gangster Neetu Dabodia and his henchmen, the Crime Branch is now redrawing the list of ‘10 Most Wanted Criminals’ who hold sway in the world of crime and whose criminal activities have caste a long shadow on the crime graph of the national Capital.
In the last 10 months, the Delhi Police has arrested five dreaded criminals, while recently one of them, Neetu Dabodia, who was number - 1 on the ‘Most Wanted Criminal’ list, was killed in an encounter with the Special Cell. Having drawn its strategy to deal with these notorious dons who are active in Delhi and its peripheral areas, the two crack units of Delhi Police — the Crime Branch and the Special Cell — with some of the best investigators have activated all the resources at its command to bring them to justice. Respective specialised units have been tasked to net specific criminals. All these hardened criminals are wanted not only by the Delhi Police, but other State police forces too and they all carry cash rewards up to Rs 1 lakh.
The Delhi Police had prepared a list of its ‘Most Wanted Criminals’ in 2012 too and had succeeded in nabbing five out of the 10 in the ‘Rogues Gallery’.
It would be interesting to mention here all those hardened criminals whose names figure in the ‘Most Wanted list 2013’ are educated ones having management degrees. One of those wanted by the Delhi Police is Sanjeev Sabharwal, who is an MBA. In their new top-10 list, the 27-year-old Satyawan alias Sonu is the notorious criminal carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh. The list comprises mostly of extortionists and desperate criminals who have blood on their hands and are known to be ruthless when it comes to executing their plans. These gangsters have been successful in deceiving police and escaping by scripting acts that had numbed Delhi Police.
“We have prepared the list after working on their modus-operandi as most of the accused are aware of the investigation methods adopted by police across the country. Now, we have assigned our units of the special cell and Crime Branch. Most of the accused are active in extortion activities in Outer and South-West Delhi. Nabbing the top criminals will send out a strong message to all the budding criminals,” police sources said.
