Delhi Police, Ola, BarTalk to promote 'Do Not Drink and Drive' campaign

The Delhi Police has roped bars and pubs to promote safe drinking with a ‘Do Not Drink and Drive’ campaign and also popularise ‘HIMMAT’ app—a women safety application of Delhi Police launched in 2015 for the safety of women travelling alone specially during late hours.

Depender Pathak, Special Commissioner of Police Operations and Delhi Police chief spokesperson said, “In this age of digital revolution in the country, we are associating with BarTalk and Ola to connect more than 25 restaurants and bars for creating awareness on responsible drinking.”

“Top priorities of this campaign are: women safety, maintain social orderliness and to curb accidents arising out of drunken driving,” Pathak said.

Being asked about underage drunken driving, Pathak said that some concrete measures would be taken regarding this aspect too.

Ola along with BarTalk will support the initiative by easing cab booking process for customers and bringing more attractive discounts to promote usage of cabs. These offers will be pushed through BarTalk by 25 digitised premium bars with over 150 Dynamic Digital Displays spread across popular locations including Hauz Khas Village, Connaught Place, Nehru Place, Greater Kailash, Khan Market and Saket. The HD displays with real-time bar offers will display messages from Delhi Police.

The aim is to create consciousness among the citizens against drunk driving and promote safe road practices, Pathak added.
