A 40-year-old wife of a Delhi Police third battalion head constable, Ombir Singh, was shot dead by two assailants on a bike on Monday morning in South West Delhi’s Bindapur area. It appears to be a property feud.
Police said Anita Singh was working as ward assistant in Army’s RR Hospital. “The incident took place on Monday morning at 7.30 am when the victim was headed for work. She was waylaid by two assistants on a bike near Metro pillar 745,” the officer added.
A passerby made a call to the PCR and the victim was taken to Mata Roop Rani Hospital where she was declared brought dead on arrival. Preliminary investigation revealed that it seems to be a case of personal enmity. The victim’s spouse, relatives and neighbours are being questioned for leads. She resided at Mohan Garden area in West Delhi’s Uttam Nagar along with their sons, Samir and Rahul.
