Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (L-G), Anil Baijal held a meeting with Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik and other senior officials of Delhi Police on Wednesday. In the monthly review meeting, the L-G was also briefed about Tuesday's massive public demonstration by Delhi Police personnel against assault on police personnel by lawyers.
According to an official, in the meeting, Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev and all joint commissioners of the Delhi Police were present.
"It was monthly review meeting and other than law and order situation in Delhi, the L-G was also briefed about the demonstration by police personnel at Police Headquarters," said a senior police official.
After 11-hour standoff which began at 9 am, agitating police personnel called off their protest.
On Tuesday, Baijal said it is imperative to restore the trust between police and lawyers and also to ensure that justice is done impartially in the entire matter.
