Two days after the Delhi Government released a report lauding its achievements in the last 15 years, the State unit of BJP came up with a counter report criticising it for its misrule. Attacking the city Government on various fronts, including escalating electricity tariff and safety of women,
BJP State unit president Vijay Goel alleged that the Chief Minister promised to turn Delhi into Paris, but has turned it into a slum instead.
Releasing the report which questioned the various achievements highlighted by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in a dossier two days back, Goel said the party would soon come up with a more detailed document on Government’s ineptitude. “With the report, the Government has again tried to misguide the people. They gave a report of 15 years because they did not have any achievements to show for in the last five years,” Goel said.
“The Chief Minister had promised to turn Delhi into Paris, but has turned it into a slum. Half of Delhi’s population does not have basic amenities. Forty per cent of the city does not have sewer lines; women still have to defecate in the open,” he claimed. The BJP report No achievements, ample proofs, pack of lies and only loot —15 years of Congress misrule ruined Delhi has been prepared by a party team, including five BJP MlAs.
“The people of the city are reeling under high inflation, crimes against women, skyrocketing power and water tariffs, poor availability of water, illiteracy, lack of adequate public transport, absence of Government health services and a corrupt, inefficient PDS. Corruption and cover-ups have been the hallmarks of the Congress Government in Delhi for the past 15 years,” said the BJP leader.
