Delhi MlAs forced to sign papers against us: Yogendra
Published on:

After the scathing attack on senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders Prashant Bhushan, Shanti Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav by top AAP leaders from the supposed “Team Kejriwal” in the party on Tuesday, Yadav lashed out and accused the party leadership of planting evidence against them. He accused them of forcing Delhi MlAs to sign papers against him and Prashant Bhushan and said the country would know the “whole truth” very soon. According to sources, a letter is being circulated around for MlAs to sign which will be made public by the party in a day or two. The letter allegedly refers to the ouster of these three leaders, namely Yogendra Yadav, Prashant and Shanti Bhushan. However, no confirmation on the same has come from the party.

It is in reference to this letter to which Yadav said that MlAs are being forced, however, sources added that “no MlA showed resistance in signing the letter”. This statement by Yadav came after the allegation of conspiring against the party during Assembly elections was levied on him by the top brass of the Aam Aadmi Party. Yadav who along with Prashant Bhushan, was driven out of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the party recently, challenged the party saying that while he would respond to the allegations levied on them, he would also make it public.

He said, “They should not put pressure on members to speak out against us or force Delhi MlAs to sign papers against us. Hope this statement ends all slander, planting of allegations. Hope no more coercion of party functionaries and Delhi MlAs on this issue. Hope Prashant Bhushan and my response will also be duly publicised by the party media. Hope party’s website will be opened for all volunteers’ responses.” Yadav said the party’s internal lokpal can probe any allegations against any member. “In this case since the lokpal has already written a letter expressing his intent to investigate so let him do that. Truth shall prevail,” the AAP leader said.

Responding to the allegations, Bhushan said that he will continue to fight for inner-party democracy, transparency, Swaraj and accountability. “We have not come to make another political party, which is just a machine of winning elections by any means. I think the time has now come for the country to know the whole truth about this matter. Very soon, they will know the whole truth. It is good that those things that were being said through other people with the kind of innuendos and allegations that were being made are now being made by frontline leaders of the party,” he said. While leaders reacted on the issue on Twitter, AAP’s Kumar Vishwas said the entire crisis was unavoidable, but indiscipline is unacceptable.
