Making a scathing attack on Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government, Delhi Congress on Monday said that instead of making good use of the support extended by the Congress Party for the benefit of the people in the State, the AAP is trying to make a futile effort to cover up its failures by misusing democratic institutions. The party said that it will not only support a strong and effective Jan lokpal but also wants the Jan lokpal Bill passed as early possible. The party also cleared that it will not back any unconstitutional bill. The DPCC president Arvinder Singh lovely, addressing the workers at Pol Khol Abhiyaan, said the party will not tolerate any move which will be unconstitutional.

Former DPCC president Jai Prakash Aggarwal appealed to the people of Delhi to put pressure, through democratic methods, on the AAP to fulfil the promises it had made before the Assembly elections. He said the Congress Party supported because of that the all-round development work in the Capital continued uninterrupted. “Both the BJP and the AAP care less about the people of Delhi; there is a need to expose them,” said Aggarwal.

Congress MlA Haroon Yusuf asked the Delhi Government to immediately withdraw 10 per cent increase imposed on water bills and provide relief to the people of Delhi. Both the leaders said the AAP was now backtracking from the 18 points on which the Congress party had pledged its support to the AAP to form the Government. Another MlA Jai Kishan condemned Kejriwal’s attempt to play politics about small and big issues.
