Delhi BJP seals Moti Nagar booze shop situated near a temple

The Delhi BJP on Sunday symbolically sealed a liquor shop situated near a temple in Moti Nagar by putting a lock on the premises and demanded that the Kejriwal Government shut all illegal liquor vends in the national Capital.

This comes two days after the state unit of BJP threatened to seal liquor vends situated in residential areas, near schools and religious places if the Arvind Kejriwal government fails to shut down these shops within the next 48 hours.

Addressing the media in front of the liquor shop in west Delhi, BJP's Delhi unit president Adesh Gupta accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of supporting the liquor mafia. “I want to tell Kejriwal that he should shut down all the liquor shops that he has opened to benefit the liquor mafia immediately,” he said.

“If you will not take any action, the BJP workers and leaders would seal these shops situated near residential areas,” he added. Taking a jibe on Arvind Kejriwal’s book ‘Swaraj’, the BJP leader said Kejriwal wrote something which he conveniently forgot after coming to power.

“He himself says when a new liquor shop comes up both officials and leaders get money for that and crores of rupees are involved.  Now Kejriwal himself should tell Delhiites how much cut money he and his people have taken for these 850 shops,” said Gupta.

He added Delhi youth are being pushed towards alcoholism, women are feeling unsafe as when it's night time there is an atmosphere of fear.

He said, “Kejriwal talked of giving clean water and clean Yamuna River so that one could take dip into that but he is now talking of Delhiites taking a dip into alcohol.”

Kuljeet Singh Chahal said because of alcoholism, Kejriwal has created a kind of a jungle raj in Delhi.  But we will help Delhiites get rid of this. “In the name of increasing revenue he is in the grip of the liquor mafia only to fill his own pockets,” he charged.
