The mysterious death of 11 members of a financially sound family in Burari has baffled the investigators. The members were found dead at their home in north Delhi's Burari on Sunday morning. Delhi Police sources said, all the deceased were under the influence of a tantric, as the investigation has found a definite involvement of occult in this tragic incident.
A senior police officer involved in the probe said that they have found some handwritten notes from the crime scene. “During a search of the house, we found handwritten notes which point to the observance of some definite “spiritual or mystical practices by the family,” an official statement issued by the Delhi Police sated. “Coincidentally, the notes have strong similarity with the manner in which the mouths, eyes etc of the deceased were tied and taped,” the statement read.
“All these notes indicate deep inclination of family members towards occult. It appears that the Tantric had told the members to tie the hands of each other and then blindfold them on a given time as that would lead them to Salvation. God will be happy and will shower his blessings upon the family”, the official said
“The family members followed the procedures and committed the extreme act. Although we have registered a case of murder on the basis of the crime scene but there are strong indications to believe it to be a case of spiritual suicide in which all the family members were involved”, the official added.
“There are telltale ligature marks on the bodies and the police have filed a case of murder. It is suspected that one member of the family killed the rest and then committed suicide, the official further said. Post Morten examination report will throw more light on the particular family member who died the last. As that would make the picture clear about the family pact to end their lives to be reunited with the Creator”, the official added
When police personnel from Burari police station reached the spot, they found bodies were hanging from an iron grill, blindfolded and mouths taped shut. They were startled to find that the only the family dog was alive. That the dog did not bark reinforced the police suspicion of murder, sources said. It appears that the dog was sedated to keep him quiet Also, the house was not ransacked and all the cash and jewelry was found intact. The women were found wearing gold jewellery, the police said.

Joint Commissinor of Police Central Range Rajesh Khurana said, “We are not leaving anything to chance. We have certain leads and probing on that.. Everything will be clear once post Morten report is available to us”.
