A complaint has been filed by Aam Aadmi Party Convener Dilip Pandey against Minister of Defence Manohar Parikkar and BJP leader GVl Narsimha Rao on Friday at the Indraprastha police station for allegedly defaming and politicising the Army and committing an act of sedition against the country.
The development came after Thursday’s Press conference in which AAP leader Sanjay Singh mounted attacks on GVl Narsimha Rao and threatened to file a police complaint against them.
In his complaint Dilip Pandey stated that the Hanuman parallel drawn by Parikkar was an insult to the Army and undignified on the part of the Defence Minister of the Country. Pandey has in his complaint alleged that the statement was a cheap political stunt by the BJP and could have been totally avoided in the interest of the nation and self confidence of the Armed Forces.
"The statement is absolutely politically motivated and made with the purpose to glorify the image of the political organisation that the Defence Minister belongs to the BJP, to glorify the image of himself and of Prime Minister of our country by denigrating image of Indian armed forces which is peer and esteemed organisation," the complaint read.
Similar allegations were made against BJP leader GVl Narsimha Rao for his comment on the recent comments on the surgical strikes in which Rao said, "They have all defended India's position to go across lOC and damage this terror infrastructure. This is the position, this is the strength, diplomatic muscle you never had for 70 years, whatever Congress party and Kejriwal might want to believe, this is the first and I will say it".
So far no case has been registered against the BJP leaders."We have received the complaint and are going through the contents of the letter. We will take the appropriate course of action in accordance with the law," said a senior police official.
