The Delhi Police has launched a probe to identify the highly decomposed lower portion of a girl’s body that was found in the forest area. It is suspected that she was sexually assaulted before being killed. According to a senior police official, the lower portion of the body was highly decomposed and it is suspected it was dumped 15-20 days back in the forest area adjacent to the peripheral road connecting Mundka and Gurugram.
“We have also found skull but it will be difficult to identify the girl since the upper portion of the body is missing. Seeing the condition of the body we suspect that the animals might have eaten the body,” said the senior police official.
“We are scanning through the profiles of missing girls and trying to identify the deceased. Once deceased is identified we will further investigate the matter as we suspect it can be a murder,” the senior police official added.
Meanwhile, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) have taked cognisance of this case and have issued a notice to Outer district police asking them to provide the commission with details regarding the incident of a girl’s body found in Mundka.
“The upper half of her body was missing and is yet to be found. There are reports of the girl being sexually assaulted before being murdered. The Commission is enquiring into this gruesome crime and requests to be provided information in the matter,” DCW spokesperson said.
“Delhi is the rape Capital. A girl was raped and killed and only the lower half of her body was found from a farm just 500 meters from Mundka Industrial Metro. The upper half of the body is still missing. DCW received the information and called the police”, DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal tweeted.
