A woman IPS officer posted in the West district was allegedly molested and misbehaved with by a nursing student at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital on Thursday. The accused has been identified as Bacchu Khan. The officer had come to the hospital to enquire about the health status of a robbery victim. The officer was passing through the corridors when the accused staff member whistled at her. At first she ignored and started walking ahead but the accused constantly stared at her. Seeing this, the officer asked him if anything was wrong but Khan continued to misbehave with her. Two of Khan’s friends have been identified as Ajit Yadav and Sheesh Pal who were also involved in the incident. A case has been registered at Hari Nagar police station against the three accused. Further investigations are underway,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Ranvir Singh. Meanwhile, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital sought to downplay the incident saying the accused never intended to misbehave with the woman officer. He also alleged that the policemen accompanying the officer bet up the student and that his eardrum has been punctured. “Police should have arrested the boy if they felt he was misbehaving, not hit him,” said Dr Bharat Singh, adding the issue has been sorted out. “I spoke to the DCP and the matter has now been sorted out,” he said.
