In order to promote Electric Vehicles (EVs), the DDA on Wednesday decided to levy a lesser licence fee for petrol pumps and CNG gas stations setting up EV charging stations in the national Capital. The decision was taken at the authority meeting chaired by Lieutenant-Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Wednesday.

According to a senior DDA official, to promote green fuel and fight the menace of air pollution in the city, the authority had granted the approval to set up EV charging stations at already allotted DDA sites for petrol and diesel pumps and CNG stations.

“The licence fee per annum for the financial year 2022-23, for sites having a size of 1,080 sqm would be `53,00,475 for a petrol or diesel pump alone.

For the CNG pumps in the city, the licence fee is `46,11,413 which is 13 per cent less if compared to the fee for the petrol pump,” he said.

“For the filling stations providing services including CNG, petrol, and diesel, the licence fee is `47,70,428, which is 10 per cent lesser than that of petrol pump. For the CNG and the EV charging stations, there will be 18 per cent discount on the licence fee with respect to petrol pumps which is `43,46,390,” the senior official informed.

“For the petrol pump including services such as CNG and EV charging station the licence fee in the city will be `45,05,404, which is a 15 per cent discount.

“For a petrol pump and EV charging station the fee will be `50,35,451, which is five per cent less if compared to the fee of setting up petrol pumps only.

“For setting up gas godowns in the national Capital the fee decided by the authority is `6,36,057, which is 88 per cent less than that of a petrol pump,” the senior DDA official concluded.
