In order to allot the flats to the people under reserved category, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to launch a special online scheme for allotment of houses to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (STs).
“In the existing provision of Scheme for Allotment of Houses to the SC/STs, if requisite number of applications is not received from the reserved categories, all remaining flats are offered to the persons of General Category. Thus, the authority has decided to launch “Special Online Housing Scheme-2019 for SC/ST’ for approximately 500 flats of old inventory.
The applications for the same ‘Scheme’ will be online and the people have to fill and submit the form online. “The Reservation ratio will be 2:1 for SC and ST category applicants and the allotment will be done through Draw of Lots,” said the official. The offered flats will be as per the category of housing scheme such as High Income Group (HIG), Middle Income Group (MIG), Low Income Group (LIG) and Janta/Economically Weaker Section (EWS). “Tentative cost will be as per standard costing. Payment of cost of flats will be on ‘cash down’ basis except under PD (Persons with Disability) category,” added the official.
Besides, the DDA will also offer one bed room flats to the Non Commissioned Officers (NCO) recipients of Gallantry Awards, war widows and the persons who have got injured/ disabled during the action/war.
“As a welfare gesture, the Authority decided to offer one bed room flats at Sectors G-2, G-8 Narela and Sectors-34, 35 Rohini to the persons coming under this category at a price of Rs.7.00 Lakhs per dwelling unit although the cost of flat is around 15 Lacs,” said another official.
Further the official added that this scheme will be one time concession to the persons of this category and it will not be treated as a precedent in future. Since almost 50% of the cost is being charged, a clause will be incorporated in the ‘Demand Letter’ that the allottees would not be entitled to sell/transfer or otherwise part with the possession of the flat in any manner for a period of 10 years from the date of possession and during this period property will be treated as leasehold.
