Delhi High Court will hear the death penalty reference against the four convicts of the December 16 gang-rape on a day-to-day basis from Wednesday.
The division bench of Justices Reva Khetrapal and Pratibha Rani rejected the defence counsels’ contention against the early hearing of the matter and said, “The court will hear the matter on a daily basis with the prosecutor opening the arguments.” Convicts Mukesh (26), Akshay Thakur (28), Pawan Gupta (19) and Vinay Sharma (20) were presented in the High Court on Tuesday. After recording their appearances, the bench announced that it will hear the matter everyday and “meanwhile, you (convicts) file the appeal.”
